Biden says he will ‘develop some disease’ and resign if disagreements with Harris arise

Former Vice President Joe Biden made a rare media appearance with running mate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) on Thursday and made a shocking admission during the interview that the media has predictably glossed over.

When asked about potential disagreements with Harris if installed in the White House, Biden bewildered viewers by declaring that he would “develop some disease and say I have to resign” — which may have been meant as a joke, but is a possibility that Trump voters have warned about for months.

Unbelievable confession

In their first media joint appearance since the November election, Biden and Harris sat down with CNN’s Jake Tapper to discuss their plans for the coming months.

At one point, when Tapper asked about how the pair would handle disagreements about policy issues, Biden replied:

Like I told Barack, if I reach something where there’s a fundamental disagreement we have based on a moral principle, I’ll develop some disease and say I have to resign.

Kamala Harris smiled along with Biden during the incident, though she shook her head ever so slightly as he “joked” about manufacturing a disease to blame his resignation on.

Republicans have speculated for months that this exact scenario may happen, as Biden would be the oldest president ever elected at 78 years old. Harris is young and ultra-liberal, and voters didn’t even give her the time of day during the primaries — making a Biden presidency the perfect trojan horse for getting the most liberal Senator in Congress into the White House.

Backlash ensues

Fox Host Lawrence Jones slammed Biden’s “joke” during an appearance on Fox & Friends on Friday, arguing that Biden’s statement means that he’ll be “taking the backseat” to Harris during his potential administration.

“This is why he doesn’t do interviews because he is so incoherent; this is why they kept him in the basement for the majority of the campaign,” Jones explained.

Jones also pointed out that though Biden said during the interview that he and Harris are “Sympatico” on most major policy issues, the pair actually fundamentally disagrees on a vast majority of issues, evidenced by the fact that Biden ran as a moderate during the primary and Harris ran as a progressive.

The Fox host concluded that this interview confirms that Biden is a “retail politician” that will not be in charge of the White House as many would assume a president should be.

“I’m going to be interested to see how this is going to play out, but, again there are some philosophy issues going into the White House immediately on day one,” he commented.

“By the way, that’s such a dishonest thing to do to the American people,” Jones continued. “Instead of coming out and saying, look, I disagree with the president, and, I am resigning because of that. You want to fake some kind of illness?”
