The Associated Press reports that Joe Biden, if elected president, would look to scrap what the outlet referred to as President Donald Trump’s “transgender military ban.”
“Among the actions that Biden pledges to take unilaterally, scrapping Trump’s transgender military ban would be among the most notable,” the Associated Press reports.
A fact check
Let’s make clear what the Associated Press doesn’t, namely, that President Trump didn’t implement a “transgender military ban.”
Instead, as Breitbart reports, President Trump, in 2018, adopted a policy that requires military personnel to be identified by their biological sex. It doesn’t “ban” transgender people from the military. It bans military personnel from putting on their official record something other than their biological sex.
“Thus, while the Trump policy does not allow members of the military service to change their gender on official documents, they are free to say they are ‘transgender,” Breitbart reports.
Getting rid of this policy, according to the Associated Press, would just be a small part of Biden’s plan “to carry out virtually every major proposal on [LGBTQ activists’] wish lists.”
Biden’s larger plan
Other measures than the one listed above would include “barring federal contractors from anti-LGBTQ job discrimination and creating high-level LGBTQ-rights positions at the State Department, the National Security Council, and other federal agencies.”
And, there is still more. The Daily Caller reports that, back in October, Biden said that there ought to be “zero discrimination” if a child “decides” that he or she is transgender.
“The idea that an 8-year-old child or a 10-year-old child decides, you know — ‘I decided I want to be transgender, that’s what I think I’d like to be, it’d make my life a lot easier’ — there should be zero discrimination,” Biden said.
Biden wants to pass the Equality Act
In the weeks following that statement, Biden reaffirmed it by vowing to sign the Equality Act.
This bill, according to the Daily Caller, “would force public schools to allow biological males who identify as transgender girls into female athletics.” Transgender students, according to Breitbart, would also be given access to bathrooms and locker rooms based on their chosen gender.
It looks like radical social policies will have a supporter in the White House, should Joe Biden get elected.
