SBA head Linda McMahon leaving Trump administration to chair pro-Trump PAC

The Trump administration is losing one of its most hardworking and effective officials.

It was announced on Friday that Linda McMahon will be resigning from her position as head of the Small Business Administration. But don’t worry — she isn’t going too far from the president’s side.

McMahon stepping down

President Trump made the resignation announcement from the Mar-A-Lago resort yesterday afternoon.

“Linda McMahon has done an incredible job as the head of the Small Business Administration, she has been a superstar,” he told reporters. “She’ll be leaving, she’s going to go and help us with a very, very important year-and-a-half that we have coming up.”

The president continued his praise for the job McMahon has done, referring to her as “one of our all-time favorites.”

“The fact is that I’ve known her for a long time,” he said. “I know she was good, but I didn’t know she was that good. She’s been one of our all-time favorites … she’s helped so many people in the world of small business.”

McMahon also released a statement of her own, saying, “I’m very proud of the work this agency has done to improve the way we connect small businesses to capital, counseling and government contracts. The focus that we have put on supporting women entrepreneurship, veteran businesses and rural development has been particularly rewarding for me.”

Success begetting success

McMahon brought years of successful business experience to the Trump administration. She helped launch the World Wrestling Entertainment organization, on whose board she sat from 1980 to 2009, then left that role in order to pursue a political career in Connecticut.

But there is no doubt that it was her business prowess which, in February of 2017, earned her a position heading the Small Business Administration.

Her success is demonstrated by her longevity, being a member of President Trump’s original cabinet.

What’s next

McMahon, however, isn’t completely deserting the president. According to reports, she will now be chairing the pro-Trump super PAC America First Action.

The efforts of this organization will be an important part of the president’s reelection effort. And with McMahon on board, success should be expected.

McMahon’s last day as head of the Small Business Administration will be April 12. “I wish to thank the President and I will continue to be a strong advocate for him and his policies,” she promised.
