Former White House physician calls on Biden to undergo cognitive assessment

President Joe Biden has long faced speculation that he is suffering from a decline in cognitive function that has rendered him unfit for the job.

According to one lawmaker who previously served as the White House physician for multiple presidents, the time has come for the president to demonstrate his mental acuity.

“They deserve to have full transparency”

As Breitbart reported, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) is calling on Biden to undergo a thorough cognitive assessment.

Along with other GOP lawmakers, Jackson sent a letter to the White House requesting the tests.

“The American people deserve to have absolute confidence in their President,” he wrote. “They deserve to know that he or she can perform the duties demanded of the office, and they deserve to have full transparency on the mental state of their highest elected leader.”

Jackson went on to assert that Biden’s “mental decline and forgetfulness have become more apparent over the past eighteen months.”

The letter went on to list several examples, including when the president appeared to forget the name of the Pentagon, the Department of Defense, and the defense secretary during an incident in March. Among the other anecdotes was a statement in February during which Biden was unable to identify the time of day or certain Democratic members of Congress.

As a result, Jackson called on Biden to undergo “a cognitive test as soon as possible” and “immediately” release the results to the public.

Now a sitting member of Congress, Jackson was the physician responsible for administering a cognitive assessment to former President Donald Trump that came in response to questions from the left regarding Trump’s mental fitness.

“We believe that, regardless of gender, age, or political party, all Presidents should follow the precedent set by former President Trump to document and demonstrate sound mental abilities,” Jackson wrote.

He went on to cite the fact that Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) previously introduced legislation to create a commission tasked with examining a president’s fitness for office, quoting the Democrat’s assertion that “it’s not hard to think that there will be future situations where the president’s physical and mental state may create issues for us.”

As of this writing, Biden has not responded to Jackson’s letter.
