There was a deadly attack Friday near the U.S. Capitol building that initially prompted extensive concern among Democrats and the media only to quickly disappear from the headlines just hours later after the assailant’s identity, which many on social media claim did not fit with the left’s preferred narratives, was publicly revealed.
In fact, President Joe Biden, in a statement regarding the fatal assault, made no mention of the attacker whatsoever and, instead, seemed to subtly imply a connection to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot that he and others on the left blamed on former President Donald Trump and his supporters, PJ Media reported.
Biden speaks out on Friday’s Capitol attack
To be sure, Biden earned at least a modicum of credit for refraining from joining the immediate bandwagon of reporters and politicians instantly blaming Trump and assuming, without a shred of evidence, that the attacker was a supporter of the prior president.
The current president also struck all of the right notes in terms of offering his condolences to the family and friends of a Capitol Police officer who lost his life in the vehicular attack that also severely injured a fellow officer before the knife-wielding assailant was gunned down.
“Jill and I were heartbroken to learn of the violent attack at a security checkpoint on the U.S. Capitol grounds, which killed Officer William Evans of the U.S. Capitol Police, and left a fellow officer fighting for his life,” President Biden said. “We send our heartfelt condolences to Officer Evans’ family, and everyone grieving his loss. We know what a difficult time this has been for the Capitol, everyone who works there, and those who protect it.”
The president noted that he was receiving “ongoing briefings” on the incident from relevant authorities and would receive “further updates” as an investigation into what occurred was conducted.
“I want to express the nation’s gratitude to the Capitol Police, the National Guard Immediate Response Force, and others who quickly responded to this attack,” Biden concluded. “As we mourn the loss of yet another courageous Capitol Police officer, I have ordered that the White House flags be lowered to half-staff.”
No mention of the attacker
PJ Media noted that the line about mourning “the loss of yet another” Capitol Police officer was almost certainly a reference to the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol, to which the death of at least one officer has been linked.
Curiously missing from Biden’s statement, however, was any clear mention of or reference to the attacker in Friday’s incident, a Black male identified as Noah Green, reportedly a devoted follower of the black separatist Nation of Islam group and its hateful leader, Louis Farrakhan, according to the New York Post.
Green, who referred to himself as Brother Noah X in social media posts briefly surveyed prior to Facebook’s rapid deletion of his account, had smashed his vehicle into a security checkpoint, running over two officers in the process, before leaping out and “lunging” at other officers with a knife, at which point he was fired upon to end the threat.
Doesn’t fit the narrative
Given the prevailing — and now provably false — narrative from Democrats and the media that white supremacist Trump supporters pose a solitary and highly dangerous threat to the Capitol and democracy in general, it really isn’t surprising that Democrats, including Biden, and the media seemingly do not want to spend much time focused on the suspect and his ties to the Nation of Islam group.
Sadly, if the suspect matched the white nationalist threat narrative that Democrats have pushed since the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, it isn’t a stretch to presume that Biden and the mainstream media likely wouldn’t have wasted even a second of time in condemning the attacker while renewing the push for tightened security at the Capitol complex.
