The Hunter Biden controversy has died down in the aftermath of the election, but GOP Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) moved this week to request an investigation into the contents of Biden’s controversial laptop unearthed prior to election day.
As all the attention has turned to the contested election results, former Vice President Joe Biden may have thought that Americans would forget about the shocking findings from his son’s laptop, but the saga is far from over.
Circling back
Buck sent a letter to Attorney General Bill Barr urging a Justice Department probe of the younger Biden’s conduct during Joe Biden’s tenure as vice president.
“[The Justice Department] must appoint a Special Counsel to investigate Hunter Biden’s conduct and contents of his laptop. This needs to be investigated free from political interference. No matter who is in the White House,” Buck tweeted on Monday.
Fox News obtained a letter Buck sent to Barr detailing the justification for his request to “appoint a Special Counsel to investigate Mr. Hunter Biden’s conduct and the contents of his laptop that is currently in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s possession.”

“This investigation is critical to defending the integrity of our republic and ensuring a potential Biden Administration will not be the subject of undue foreign interference,” Buck wrote in his letter to Barr.
“Americans have the right to know whether Mr. Biden’s reported ties to foreign governments will make him the subject of blackmail attempts or other nefarious efforts to undermine U.S. national security or otherwise improperly influence American foreign policy.”
Biden family troubles
Prior to the election, former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski told Fox host Tucker Carlson that he believes “Joe Biden and the Biden family are compromised” due to Hunter Biden’s overseas dealings.
Not only is there evidence that Hunter Biden leveraged his position as the son of the vice president of the US to strike deals with foreign energy companies, there is also evidence that Joe Biden himself was aware of his son’s abuse of his position and may have even participated in those very deals himself.
There has been little follow-up on this evidence since the election, but Buck is gunning to refocus the nation on the risk that self-proclaimed president-elect Joe Biden poses to our nation.
“Similar to when the DOJ appointed Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III, it is critical that this investigation continue free from political interference, no matter who is in the White House,” Buck explained. “We must guarantee the integrity of our government and the security of our republic.”
