Trump Jr. jabs Biden, Dems after Rittenhouse jury votes to acquit

Jurors in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial voted to acquit the teen on charges related to a shooting last year during a protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Among those who spoke out in favor of the jury’s decision was Donald Trump Jr., who did so while taking a shot at President Joe Biden over a medical procedure he underwent earlier the same day.

“His second colonoscopy of the day”

The president received a colonoscopy on Friday morning as part of a routine physical examination at Walter Reed Medical Center.

“The Rittenhouse jury just gave Biden his second colonoscopy of the day,” Trump Jr. quipped, apparently suggesting that the news caused further discomfort for the president.

He subsequently tweeted an edited photo of Rittenhouse in an apparent attempt to criticize progressive politicos and mainstream media personalities who seemed to be hoping that the defendant would be convicted.

Biden addressed the verdict later in the day, asserting that he and many other Americans remained “angry and concerned” over the decision to let Rittenhouse walk.

“I was sad it had to go this far”

Of course, those remarks came after he initially reacted to the news in an off-the-cuff statement to reporters, arguing: “Well, look, I stand by what the jury has concluded. The jury system works and we have to abide by it.”

Biden further acknowledged that he “didn’t watch the trial,” which led some to wonder whether he was familiar with the evidence and testimony that seemed to bolster Rittenhouse’s claim that he shot three men as an act of self-defense.

The president’s medical procedure was also newsworthy in that it involved Vice President Kamala Harris temporarily assuming the role of acting president while Biden underwent anesthesia, as White House press secretary Jen Psaki confirmed during Friday’s press briefing.

Former President Donald Trump also weighed in on the Rittenhouse verdict, first in a written statement and then during an interview with Fox News Channel personality Laura Ingraham.

“I think that it was a great decision,” Trump said. “I was sad it had to go this far. Somebody should have ended it earlier, and frankly, the case should have never been brought.”
