Rep. Ocasio-Cortez deletes tweet accusing Republican insider of using ‘bot accounts’ against her

Democratic-socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) finally came to her senses on Thursday and deleted a bizarre tweet claiming that she was under attack by Republican operatives using “bot accounts” to criticize her far-left politics.

Someone should tell the freshman congresswoman that those aren’t troll accounts, but actual Americans disgusted by her identity politics and horrified by her radical socialist proposals.

Gone — but not forgotten

Without evidence, AOC — as she is commonly known — identified Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell’s former chief of staff as the culprit behind the social media smear campaign.

Her since-deleted tweet reads: “If you notice a lot more trolls on social media re: politics, it’s because Mitch McConnell’s former Chief of Staff runs a multimillion-dollar operation to have bot accounts manipulate online discourse. Because we all know how hard they work to make the world a better place.”

After a moment of self-reflection, Ocasio-Cortez may have realized that the tweet made her seem paranoid and unbalanced. She quickly deleted the message, but not before one of her not-so-adoring fans captured the image in perpetuity via a screenshot.

Tweetstorm

Josh Holmes, the former McConnell staffer whom AOC accused of engineering a cyber plot against her, didn’t interpret the deletion of the tweet as an apology. He responded by explaining how the “multimillion-dollar operation” AOC accuses him of organizing was, in fact, a “voter registration project.”

“She’s easily the most reckless politician in America,” Holmes quipped.

On the defense

Ocasio-Cortez has spent a lot of time defending herself recently. After almost single-handedly tanking a deal with Amazon that would have provided around 25,000 new jobs and billions of dollars of investment and tax revenue to the her New York district, the socialist legislator earned widespread condemnation from members of her own party. New York Mayor Bill De Blasio (D) was outraged by AOC’s incompetence.

“As a progressive my entire life — and I ain’t changing — I’ll take on any progressive anywhere that thinks it’s a good idea to lose jobs and revenue because I think that’s out of touch with what working people want,” De Blasio told local WNYC radio.

Establishment Democrats also went after Ocasio-Cortez following the unveiling of her highly controversial Green New Deal, which included promises to pay people “unwilling to work,” and set impossible goals to shutdown every nuclear power plant in 10 years.

As a result of AOC’s conspiratorial finger-pointing, the congresswoman’s Democrat base is finally learning what conservatives have known all along — Ocasio-Cortez is a few sandwiches short of a picnic.
