St. Louis couple who defended their house during St. Louis riots spotted in Kenosha, Wisconsin

The St. Louis couple known for standing their ground in St. Louis to a group of Black Lives Matter protesters, Mark and Patricia McCloskey, were seen in Kenosha, Wisconsin according to Fox News.

The publication reported that the couple who were photographed brandishing weapons at protesters near their home, appeared after final arguments were completed in the Kyle Rittenhouse murder trial.

Both McCloskeys were spotted at a hotel just minutes from the Kenosha County Courthouse that is the scene of a media circus while the public awaits the results of the lengthy trial.

Rittenhouse is on trial for the murder of two men and the injury of a third during the summer of 2020 when the BLM riots were in full swing after a police-involved shooting in August of 2020.

It was brought out in the trial, and Rittenhouse has firmly maintained, that he was being advanced upon and could well have feared for his own life when he fired his weapon.

The McCloskeys rose to notoriety at nearly the same time as Rittenhouse for similar reasons, though they weren’t advanced upon and didn’t fire their weapons.

All three of them stood their ground and according to Mark McCloskey they believe Rittenhouse should be found not guilty of murder due to the mitigation of self-defense:

“We feel for Mr. Rittenhouse,” Mark McCloskey told Fox News. “We feel he acted in self-defense.”

“We think he’s been politically prosecuted, as were we, and we’re hoping that the jury find him not guilty on all counts and that he can go home a free man,” he continued.

The McCloskeys were themselves charged with a misdemeanor charge in connection with their actions during the riot.

Both pleaded guilty and were pardoned by Missouri Gov. Mike Parson pardoned them earlier this year.

“[Rittenhouse is] a young man,” McCloskey told Fox News. “He was doing the best he could to help his country and to save businesses up here in Kenosha, and as his reward, he’s having the rest of his life threatened.”

McCloskey is currently running for Senate in Missouri and told Fox News that he waited to come to Wisconsin to show support until after the jury was out so that they didn’t get “accused of interfering in any way of the results.”
