Rittenhouse: “I support the BLM movement.”

Kyle Rittenhouse has surprised many with a revelation that he made during his first television interview since his acquittal.

Fox News reports Rittenhouse as revealing that he supports the far-left Black Lives Matter movement.

Rittenhouse: “I’m not a racist person.”

Rittenhouse made the remark during an interview that he did with the Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson. The interview will be broadcast on Monday during “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

But, some of what Rittenhouse said is already being reported, and one of the points that the eighteen-year-old tried to make clear was that he is not a racist and that his trial had nothing to do with race.

“This case has nothing to do with race,” Rittenhouse told Carlson. “It never had anything to do with race. It had to do with the right to self-defense.”

Rittenhouse continued:

I’m not a racist person. I support the BLM movement. I support peacefully demonstrating. I believe there needs to be change.

Background

What Rittenhouse had to say, specifically his remark that he supports Black Lives Matter, goes against the narrative that the left has been pushing about him.

At the very least, most on the left consider Rittenhouse to be some kind of vigilante who went to fight off, in the left’s view, peaceful Black Lives Matter protestors who were looking for meaningful change following the shooting of Jacob Blake. Some on the left go a step further by framing Rittenhouse as a White supremacist vigilante.

And, just about everyone on the left seems to agree that the U.S. criminal justice system is inherently racist because it found Rittenhouse not guilty of shooting three of these Black Lives Matter “protestors,” injuring one and killing two.

But, if Rittenhouse is a Black Lives Matter supporter, then the left is going to have to alter their narrative. After all, one can’t be both a Black Lives Matter supporter and a White supremacist vigilante, right?

One interesting question is why the fact that Rittenhouse is a Black Lives Matter supporter didn’t come out until after the trial. Some are wondering whether this is really true or whether Rittenhouse is just saying this to protect himself from the angry mob. We’ll have to see.

Besides Monday’s interview with Carlson, Rittenhouse will also be the subject of a documentary that Fox Nation will broadcast in December.
