The Washington Examiner reported Wednesday that Vice President Kamala Harris had traveled to France this week, where she took time to stop at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, a facility where her mother was once employed.
Although the visit appears to have been largely uneventful, footage has emerged that shows the VP in a bizarre moment while speaking with French scientists.
“Defend the plan”
“We campaign with the plan…the plan,” the vice president told the group as she motioned with her arms outstretched, according to the Examiner.
“The environment is such that we are expected to defend the plan,” Harris added. “Even when the first time we roll it out, there may be some glitches, and it’s time to reevaluate and then do it again.”
Although Harris was partly raised in the French-speaking Canadian city of Montreal, she does not regularly use a French accent in public. This week, however, it seems she wasn’t afraid to try it out. Take a look for yourself:

“This is who Kamala Harris is now”
Of course, this is not the first time that Harris has been observed speaking in an unusual manner. She sometimes spoke in a southern accent during the 2020 presidential campaign, a fact that Fox News host Tucker Carlson harped on.
“In Florida on Saturday, Kamala revealed a new lived experience,” the Washington Examiner quoted Carlson as saying in November of last year.
“Turns out, she’s a proud, lifelong resident of the Deep South here in the United States,” the Fox host explained before playing a clip of Harris speaking at a campaign event. “It’s a good thing being a phony isn’t a crime, or she’d be doing 30 to life,” Carlson joked. “But there’s no going back now.”
He added: “This is who Kamala Harris is now. She’s from the Deep South. At an event in North Carolina, she seemed like any other deep southerner.”
Per usual for Carlson, he didn’t mince words. “You really couldn’t tell the difference between her and anybody else from rural Alabama,” he said before playing another clip, according to the Examiner.
“If you just threw up in your mouth a little bit, don’t judge yourself,” the Fox star opined. “All of America just vomited simultaneously. Could you stand four years of that?”
