Former aide says Trump is ‘certainly considering’ 2024 White House bid

Former President Donald Trump has to give a final answer on whether he will run for office again in 2024. But according to one man who worked closely with him, while there’s been no public announcement of Trump’s candidacy, the deal is all but sealed in the former president’s mind at this point.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart, Sam Nunberg, who once served as one of Trump’s top aides in the White House, said he expects Trump will mount another bid for president in 2024.

“Obviously, he is certainly, certainly considering it,” Nunberg said of Trump, according to Breitbart. “He seems to have his ducks in a row.”

“I thought it was extremely smart that his Super PAC has already made hires in Iowa,” the first state in which partisan primary contests are held, Nunberg added.

“I believe that he will”

Looking to 2024, Trump remains a favorite among Republican voters, which could bode well for him should he decide to throw his hat in the ring.

According to Nunberg, however, it could also pose a challenge for the former president. “The problem for Donald Trump if he announces that he’s running for president, and I believe that he will, is he’s going to be running a general election campaign from the day he announces,” the ex-White House aide told Breitbart.

Indeed, a recent Harvard/Harris poll shared by The Hill showed Trump with a commanding lead over all other potential GOP presidential primary contenders.

Should Trump decide against it, however, there are other Republicans who can carry the “America First” torch. Among the names mentioned by Nunberg were former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-FL), and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R).

DeSantis, for his part, came in a distant second behind Trump in the Harvard/Harris poll, The Hill reported.

“Become great again”

Polling cited by the Washington Examiner has suggested the most likely scenario for 2024 is a rematch of the last election, when Trump faced off against now-President Joe Biden. Regardless of who the Dems opt to put up, however, Trump seems determined to get a headstart.

Business Insider reports that the Republican’s team has already begun to lay the groundwork for a White House campaign, with a sharp focus on five significant battleground states that essentially decided the last election in Biden’s favor — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

“Unfortunately, he can’t keep looking back,” Nunberg advised the former president in his interview with Breitbart. “I know he was cheated. He has to look forward, and if he does, I think that the White House can become great again, frankly.”
