The Biden administration, in their neverending quest to force COVID-19 vaccine mandates on every American citizen, took a blow from a federal court on Monday.
According to the Washington Examiner, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri issued a preliminary injunction that will temporarily halt the mandate for healthcare workers in a grouping of 10 states who sued the Biden administration in a case called Missouri v. Biden.
Healthcare workers in the 10 states, which includes Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming, were facing a Jan. 4 enforcement date of when they would have been required to receive a vaccination or face the reality of being terminated.
The states involved in the lawsuit argued that such a mandate is a violation of their constitutional rights, which apparently the Missouri-based federal court agreed with.
The judge speaks
Judge Matthew Schelp of the Eastern District of Missouri made clear in his ruling that he believes it will help “ensure that federal agencies do not extend their power beyond the express delegation from Congress.”
Schelp, like other common-sense thinkers, revealed that he understood the risks of thousands of healthcare workers losing their jobs over the mandate, which would pose an even greater risk to their local communities.
He noted that Biden’s mandate would pose a burden “on the ability of healthcare facilities to provide proper care, and thus, save lives.”
The temporary injunction marks a massive victory for healthcare workers in the 10 states that joined the lawsuit, along with healthcare workers across the country that can now presumably use the results as precedent in their own filings.
Republicans celebrate
News of Judge Schelp’s bombshell ruling was quickly celebrated on social media by a number of GOP politicians, including Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, who spearheaded the lawsuit against the Biden administration.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services worked with the Biden administration on the mandate, and aside from the 10-state lawsuit, also faces several additional challenges to its rules, according to Bloomberg Law.
Only time will tell if this trend repeats, but it certainly appears as if federal courts in Republican-led states are willing to give healthcare workers a chance to argue their legitimate cases against the mandate.
