Last week, the Washington Examiner reported that Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh tested positive for COVID-19. Although many expressed hope that the jurist would stay healthy, others weren’t so kind, as they relentlessly mocked his diagnosis.
“On Thursday evening, Justice Kavanaugh was informed that he had tested positive for Covid-19,” a Supreme Court press release read. “He has no symptoms and has been fully vaccinated since January.”
“Per current Court testing protocols, all of the Justices were tested Monday morning prior to conference, and all tested negative, including Justice Kavanaugh,” the release added.
Sickening comments
Rather than being a cause for concern, Kavanaugh’s illness was seemingly a source of humor for some Democrats. Left-wing columnist David Weissman responded to the news of Kavanaugh’s illness with apathy, tweeting out the words, “Oh well.”
Many of those who responded to Weismann went further, with one person saying the announcement that Kavanagh was sick made for a “happy Friday.”
When one woman asked if “it is okay not to send well wishes, another user replied, “It’s more than OK. It’s nice seeing good things happen to bad people.”
Leftist comedian and author Kate Willett expressed similar sentiments, declaring, “Looks like we just found the only thing positive about Brett Kavanaugh.”
Among the responses was a mock prayer in which someone said, “Jesus, I see what you’ve done for other people and I want that for Brett Kavanaugh.”
Mocking cancer
A Twitter user who goes by the moniker “Jewish Deplorable” observed a similar phenomenon on Monday when it was revealed that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R) wife, Casey DeSantis, had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Jewish Deplorable posted multiple screenshots showing individuals who had mocked the tragic news as being an example of “karma.”
One person whose profile image featured a Black Lives Matter (BLM) fist tweeted, “It’s hard to have sympathy for evil people. She, DeSatan and those around her will have to wear a mask.”
Another Twitter user suggested that DeSantis might not even be suffering from cancer but could instead be falsely claiming to have the disease in order to garner sympathy for her husband.
