Podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan was among the latest celebrities to announce a positive COVID-19 test result.
Just days after confirming that he had contracted the virus, however, he revealed on Friday that he tested negative. In an Instagram post, he included a photograph of the test, writing: “Tested negative today! Thanks for all the kind wishes!”
“Much love to you all”
Two days earlier, he announced on social media that he received a positive test result.
“I GOT COVID,” he wrote on Wednesday. “My apologies, but we have to move the Nashville show to Sunday, October 24. Much love to you all.”
That post included a video in which he revealed further details about his condition, explaining that he had a headache and had felt “very weary” and “run down” over the past several days.
He wrote that on Saturday night he developed “fevers, sweats,” and realized he was likely infected, noting that after he tested positive he “immediately threw the kitchen sink at it.”
Rogan went on to note that he reacted with a self-imposed quarantine and had received a variety of medications, including “monoclonal antibodies, ivermectin, Z-Pak, prednisone, everything.”
“Three days in a row”
He added that he “also got a [nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide] drip and a vitamin drip,” which he received “three days in a row.”
By Wednesday, he said he was feeling “great.” Days later, he had apparently shed the virus from his system.
Of course, Rogan’s regimen — as well as his overall take on COVID-19 — has not escaped criticism. He recently drew some backlash for confirming that he would not “force” audience members at his upcoming New York City show to prove they have been vaccinated despite a mandate imposed in that city.
He has also advised young, healthy people against receiving the vaccine. Along with his admitted use of the drug ivermectin to treat his own infection, Rogan has opened himself up to new verbal attacks from pundits who already disagreed with him on various other social issues.
Given his apparently short bout with the virus, however, it appears that he might have gotten the last laugh.
