Republican House members, including several veterans, blasted President Joe Biden and Democrats during a press conference after the left blocked a bill that would require accountability regarding Afghanistan.
“It’s been a tragic two weeks for this nation, culminating in the death of 13 of our soldiers, at least 18 seriously injured. Earlier this week, we saw 13 flag-draped coffins arrived back home,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said, according to Breitbart News.
“These 13 soldiers gave their lives to make sure to bring Americans home safely. They were the best of us. And we will never, ever forget. And we will always remember them as heroes,” McCarthy added.
A Question for Every Democrat

McCarthy tweeted on Wednesday, “A question for every Democrat in Congress: Do you stand behind President Biden’s decision to leave Americans behind in Afghanistan?”
The question is haunting for House Democrats. If a Democrats says yes, the member will appear to side with Biden’s tragic failure in Afghanistan and favor leaving Americans behind.
However, if a member says no, the person would appear to contradict Biden’s plan and the party during time when Democrats already need unity during a weak moment.
Honoring Our Heroes
Republican Rep. Michael Cloud tweeted McCarthy’s post about the fallen 13, saying, “America is the home of the free because of the brave. These service members exhibited bravery and courage of the highest order, and we should never forget their stories.”

The reminder highlights the Biden administration’s failures are not mere policy, but about the life and death of Americans. Thirteen troops have already lost their lives.
What about the Americans still in Afghanistan? Will the Biden administration abandon them? Will Democrats?
The GOP press conference pointed out there is no middle ground on the issue. Democrats either side with Biden in leaving Americans behind, or they will reject Biden’s decision and stand for Americans in need.
