Father of US Marine killed in Kabul attack slams Biden administration

A cowardly suicide bombing attack at one of the gates of Hamid Karzai International Airport, thought to be carried out by ISIS-K terrorists, claimed the lives of 13 U.S. service members.

According to Fox News, the fathers of two of the U.S. Marines who lost their lives in the attack are already speaking out and slamming President Joe Biden in the wake of the tragic development, even claiming that the president “turned his back” on the troops stationed there to help.

“Biden turned his back”

Steve Nikoui, the father of deceased U.S. Marine Kareem Nikoui, has already generated headlines for his assessment of what led to the death of his young son, especially in the wake of a heart-wrenching interview he conducted on Friday evening with Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

“They sent my son over there as a paper pusher and then had the Taliban outside providing security,” Nikoui told The Daily Beast. “I blame my own military leaders. … Biden turned his back on him. That’s it.”

Steve Nikoui recalled the moment a group of U.S. Marines appeared at his doorstep to deliver the horrifying news, saying that the Marines were even more upset than him at the time.

“I was actually trying to console them,” he said. “But at the same time, I just wanted them to get out as soon as possible so that no one from my family came back and saw them. I thought it appropriate that I be able to tell them.”

In the interview with Carlson, Steve Nikoui recounted how his son had expressed greater concern over what had unfolded in Kabul in such a short amount of time, as far as the Taliban moving in and totally capturing the city within a matter of hours.

A “turkey shoot”

Holding nothing back, Steven Nikoui was clearly frustrated as he described the situation on the ground at the airport in Kabul, noting that it basically amounted to a “turkey shoot” for bad actors, given how it was organized.

He went on to suggest that it didn’t take a military analyst to deduce that the setup was primed for bad things to happen, noting that even in his profession as a carpenter, it was easy to see something was bound to go wrong.

“It was just basically so chaotic and not really planned out. Now, I’m a carpenter and even I could spot that with my untrained military eye,” Steve Nikoui said.

Sadly, in addition to the 13 U.S. troops who died as a result of the ISIS-K attack, another 18 were wounded. At least 170 Afghans were killed with scores more wounded in the attack, marking one of the darkest days of an already dark debacle.

Officials, including the president, Yahoo News reported, have already warned of another impending attack at Hamid Karzai airport, though specific details of what the attack might entail were not made available.
