Cohen predicts imminent criminal charges against Trump Organization

The Manhattan district attorney in New York City has been investigating the Trump Organization for several years, and recent developments seem to indicate that the prosecutors are preparing to make a move against the former president’s family business.

Michael Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney — who was convicted of his own violations of the law — is now predicting that criminal charges against the Trump Organization are imminent, Breitbart reported.

Some may view Cohen’s prediction as surprising, but in actuality, the felonious former lawyer predicted such a scenario long ago.

Trump will “fight like the dog that he is”

Cohen’s prediction came near the end of an appearance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he and the eponymous host took turns cracking mean-spirited and unfunny jokes about Trump, his wife and children, his top employees, and his supporters in Congress.

With regard to the Manhattan DA’s investigation, with which Cohen has reportedly cooperated, Kimmel asked, “Is this going to be the one? I know you said you expect in the next 30 to 60 days, something will happen that Trump will be charged with something. You went to jail. Rudy [Giuliani] might go to jail. His lawyers all seemed to get a punishment. How is this guy able to dodge it?”

Cohen replied, “When it comes to the Department of Justice — and I’ve said this in many, many tweets — the wheels of justice turn slowly, but eventually they do turn full circle.”

“Understand you are not just fighting anybody. You are fighting somebody that has money behind him and the former power of the president of the United States,” Cohen continued. “He will fight like the dog that he is. He is hiring lawyers. I am not impressed with any of the lawyers he hired.”

DA possesses “documentary evidence” of Trump’s “illegalities”

Trump’s former personal attorney went on to name top executives in the Trump Organization, including Allan Weisselberg and Matthew Calamari, who have reportedly been targeted and pressured by prosecutors in an attempt to compel them to cooperate and flip on the former president.

“[Trump’s] in trouble, Allen Weisselberg’s in trouble, Weisselberg’s kids, Matt Calamari, Rudy Giuliani, they’re all in trouble,” Cohen said. “Why? Because there’s documentary evidence that’s in their possession.”

“They don’t really need Weisselberg or Calamari. One of them will flip to save themselves. And once you get Calamari, you don’t need Weisselberg. When you get Weisselberg, you don’t need Calamari,” he added. “But the truth is, they don’t need either of them because they have the documents to prove exactly the illegalities done by Trump.”

Trump Organization expects charges

On Friday, just hours after Cohen’s Thursday night prediction, NBC News reported that Trump attorney Ron Fischetti confirmed that lawyers for the Trump Organization had recently met with Manhattan prosecutors and that criminal charges against the business, likely involving allegations of tax evasion on company-provided benefits, were expected soon.

“It looks like they are going to come down with charges against the company and that is completely outrageous,” Fischetti told NBC News. “The meeting was on Zoom for about 9 minutes and there were eight or nine prosecutors … the corporate office will plead not guilty and we will make an immediate motion to dismiss the case against the corporation.”
