Video shows Biden whispering, stumbling through recent speech on COVID-19

Conservative commentator and Fox News host Sean Hannity has long drawn attention to what he sees as apparent cognitive decline in President Joe Biden. And in a recent speech on the coronavirus pandemic, Biden did little to quell Hannity’s suspicions.

The Fox star shared on his Facebook page a video that showed the president seeming to stumble over his prepared address, slurring his words and even at times “whispering” to the crowd, as Hannity noted.

“Now is not the time to let down. Now is not the time to celebrate,” Biden said of the pandemic near the end of his talk, in a bizarrely hushed tone. “It is time to do what we do best as a country — our duty, our jobs, take care of one another, and fight this to the finish. We can and will do this, but don’t let up now. Don’t let up now.” Take a look:

Biden’s latest blunders

In the clip, Biden had been urging state and local leaders not to rescind mask mandates put in place to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

“The failure to take this virus seriously, precisely what got us into this mess in the first place,” he says in the video. “Risk more cases and more desks — deaths.”

The clip shared by Hannity then cuts to footage of Biden’s first-ever White House press conference late last month, where the commander-in-chief seemed to oscillate between using a subdued voice and suddenly shouting.

Biden revived his campaign pledge to “rebuild the backbone of this country — the middle class, hardworking people, people struggling to get into the middle class.” He then bellowed: “They built America, and unions BUILT THEM!”

“Uh. Sorry.”

Of course, that was hardly the only example of Biden faltering during the presser. As the Daily Caller noted, the president seemed to struggle to speak coherently and at one point, even appeared to lose his train of thought before moving on to a new topic.

“And so I’m going to say something outrageous. I have never been particularly poor at calculating how to get things done in the United States Senate periods of the best way to get something done, if you hold near and dear to you that you like to be able to — anyway,” Biden said, trailing off, according to the Daily Caller.

Biden continued: “We are ready to get a lot done, and if we have to, if there is a complete lockdown and chaos as a result of the filibuster, then we’ll have to go beyond what I’m talking about. Okay, hang on. Uh. Sorry.”

For Biden, these are far from one-off performances. At various times throughout his campaign for the White House, he managed to mix up his wife with his sister, forget what state he was in, and even tell supporters that he was seeking a seat in the United States Senate, according to reports. Sadly, it doesn’t seem the situation has improved now that he’s the leader of the free world.
