Republican Sen. John Barrasso: ‘We were told to delete the pictures’ of border facility

Despite promising to be “transparent,” the Biden administration is going to great lengths to cover up a self-inflicted border crisis.

One Republican senator who visited the border recently, John Barrasso (WY) says he was told to delete photos of migrant children being packed like “sardines” in overcrowded facilities.

“This is both a humanitarian crisis and a national security crisis,” Barrasso told Fox News.

GOP senator pressured to delete photos

For weeks, thousands of unaccompanied children have been kept in squalid “cages” at the border that Biden promised to close. One particular facility in Donna, Texas that has received significant attention was recently said to be housing 4,200 migrants, well past its capacity of 250.

It wasn’t until last week that journalists were allowed inside the Donna facility for the first time, after Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) led a group of senators on a tour there. Cruz later shared video of “the Biden cages.”

According to Barrasso, they were told to delete photos and videos, but they refused. “We were told to delete the pictures. No one did. You’ve seen the video coming out of all of these kids crammed together under the foil blankets, huddling together.”

He said the Biden administration is seeking to “hide” conditions at the border, with a record number of unaccompanied children “in captivity.”

“You may have seen the numbers today are the highest in history of unaccompanied minors currently in captivity,” he said. “They are crammed in like sardines. And this is what the Biden administration is trying to hide from the American public.”

Democrats scramble to hide border crisis

Migrants have left little doubt that Biden’s de facto open borders policies are drawing them to the border, but Biden has been in no hurry to take ownership of the problem, attempting to blame Trump instead for the surge.

“The irony here is that we’re hearing a lot about Joe Biden wanting vaccine passports to prove that people have vaccines,” Barrasso said. “Meanwhile, the border crossers, they don’t even require I.D.”

Biden has faced only mild pushback from the press, and even Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who dramatically denounced Trump’s “concentration camps,” has come to Biden’s defense by objecting to terms like “surge” to describe an increase in immigration.

What are Biden and his Democratic allies so afraid of? If this really is all Trump’s fault, there should be nothing to hide. But it isn’t, and they know that. Americans are seeing what open borders looks like in action, and that’s all on Biden.
