Given signs of President Joe Biden’s declining mental capacities, many have speculated that Vice President Kamala Harris is the one actually running his administration. If that’s the case, then she should begin taking things more seriously.
In what appears to be a now frequent behavior, Harris burst out laughing when discussing a serious topic — in this case, the struggles that parents and children have faced during the pandemic due to in-person learning being shutdown at schools around the country.
Harris laughs at parent crisis
In footage that went viral last week, Harris told an audience at the West Haven Child Development Center in Connecticut, “More people are seeing that yeah, affordable child care is a big deal.”
“More parents are seeing value of educators when they had bring their kids and say ‘We’re not paying them nearly enough!” she went on.
The vice president laughed hysterically as she spoke, while audience members responded by breaking into applause.

Harris laughed about the border
This is not the first time the vice president has responded to a crisis with laughter. Last month, when asked by a reporter if she had plans to visit the southern border, Harris also responded with laughter.
Steve Guest, special advisor for communications to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), responded in a tweet, “Apparently, the border crisis is now a laughing matter for the Biden administration.”
The vice president’s reaction was particularly jarring given the fact that Biden had announced that Harris will play a key role in addressing issues at the border.
Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) excoriated Harris and Biden for their handling and reactions to the border crisis. Cornyn told Fox News that what’s going on is “no laughing matter” and he wished “the vice president and president would come to the border. ”
“I’ll be glad to welcome them there to learn what I’ve learned, talking to the experts, the Border Patrol, Health and Human Services, as well as the local officials and stakeholders who are bearing the burden of this open border policy of this administration,” he said.
