Kamala Harris silent on Cuomo sexual harassment allegations

On Monday, Anna Ruch became the third woman to come forward with sexual harassment allegations against Democratic New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo in recent weeks.

Vice President Kamala Harris has been deafeningly silent on the allegations, which is particularly noteworthy considering her history, as noted by Breitbart.

In 2018, during the confirmation hearings of then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Harris ruthlessly went after the Supreme Court nominee and unequivocally expressed her belief in the allegations of Christine Blasey Ford who had accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her at party when they were in high school.

“I believe her,” Harris told CBS at the time, Politico reported. “Listen, first of all, anybody who comes forward at this point to be prepared to testify in the United States Senate against someone who’s being nominated to one of the most powerful positions in the united States government, that takes an extraordinary amount of courage.”

Harris said she believed Biden accusers

The then-California senator also heaped praise on Ford for her willingness to put “herself out there knowing that they’re going to try and excoriate her.”

“She’s doing it, I believe, because she knows that this is an important matter. It’s a serious matter. And she has the courage to come forward. She has nothing to gain,” Harris insisted. “What does she have to gain?”

During the Democratic presidential primary race, Harris also voiced support for the women who have accused then-Democratic candidate Joe Biden of inappropriate behavior.

“I believe them, and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it,” she said in April 2019, Fox News reported.

Flip-flopping over Biden allegations

Fox News noted that this did not prevent Harris from later accepting Biden’s vice presidential nomination or from speaking well of his record on women.

“The Joe Biden I know is somebody who really has fought for women and empowerment of women and for women’s equality and rights,” she said last summer.

So far, Harris has allowed White House press secretary Jen Psaki to speak on her behalf when it comes accusations against Cuomo.

“I can certainly speak on behalf of the president and the vice president, and so let me reiterate that they both believe that every woman coming forward should be heard, should be treated with dignity and treated with respect,” Psaki told Fox News reporter Kristin Fisher on Tuesday.
