Rush Limbaugh claims Lincoln Project ‘knew it all’ about John Weaver’s harassing messages to young men

A bombshell report from The American Conservative in January detailed shocking allegations of sexual misconduct against John Weaver, a co-founder of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project.

While Weaver’s colleagues at the Lincoln Project, including co-founder George Conway, have denied knowing about Weaver’s behavior, conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh made clear on his program Tuesday that he believes they’re lying.

“You knew it all,” Limbaugh said. “Everybody knew this guy, and they all claimed, ‘We had no idea, had no idea! He was hitting on minor guys? We had no idea that he was deviant like this! We had no idea.'”

“‘Oh, this is terrible. Oh, my God. Oh, I don’t know. Oh, this is so devastating. Oh, this so bad,'” Limbaugh said sarcastically. “I didn’t know any of it. This is so bad.”

Weaver’s hypocrisy

Limbaugh called out Weaver’s hypocrisy for condemning Trump as immoral while he was acting in a sexually deviant manner himself.

“When this guy [Weaver] is running around ripping Donald Trump as unfit for office on the basis he’s a deviant, on the basis that he has no morality, where were all these people saying, ‘John, shut up; you’re not the guy to carry the message?'”

“Well, he was the co-founder,” Limbaugh pointed out, arguing that this status meant none of the Lincoln Project’s other members were willing to challenge Weaver.

According to a piece from The New York Times, at least 21 men say that they were approached by Weaver with “unsolicited and sexually provocative messages” along with promises that “he could help them get work in politics.” Among the alleged victims was a man who said was only 14 when the messages began.

In one of the messages Weaver wrote to a young man, he said, “Give advice, counsel, help with bills. You help me … sensually.”

Conway: “Speechless”

During an appearance Monday on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Conway, vocal Trump opponent and husband of former Trump White House counsel Kellyanne Conway, told host Mika Brzezinski that he was left completely blindsided by the revelations.

“It’s terrible and awful and appalling and unfathomable. I, I didn’t know John very well,” Conway said.

“I frankly only spoke to him a couple of times on the phone early on in the Lincoln Project,” he claimed. “It’s almost, I don’t even know what to say. It’s just terrible. It leaves me speechless, frankly.”
