‘Send me a list’: Trump reacts to WaPo report claiming over 25 congressional Republicans think Biden won

After conducting a survey on Capitol Hill, The Washington Post put out a report Saturday claiming that 27 of 249 Republicans in the House and Senate — up from an original report pegging the number at 25 — had said they “acknowledge Joe Biden’s win over President [Donald] Trump.” Now, President Trump wants a list of the traitors.

According to the Washington Examiner, Trump demanded in a Saturday tweet that the Post name the 25 “RINOs” — or Republicans in name only — who have accepted the results of the 2020 election as a loss for the incumbent president.

The president and his legal team have maintained for weeks that the vote tallies were tainted by fraud, and Trump has shown no signs of backing down as his challenges make their way through the courts.

“Send me a list”

In the latest example of such, President Trump responded Saturday to a tweet from The Washington Post‘s Philip Rucker.

“The Washington Post surveyed all 249 Republicans in the House and Senate,” Rucker wrote. “Only 25 would acknowledge that Joe Biden is president-elect.”

The word “only” would suggest that Rucker was referring to a small number — but that’s not how Trump saw it. “25, wow! I am surprised there are so many,” he wrote in a tweet of his own.

It’s not over yet

In its Saturday report, the Post claimed to have surveyed congressional Republicans the morning after President Trump published a 46-minute video in which he claimed that he won the 2020 election but that “corrupt forces” were trying to take his victory away. According to the Post, two Republicans agreed, while the aforementioned 27 conceded that Biden had come out on top.

“[A]nother 220 GOP members of the House and Senate — about 88 percent of all Republicans serving in Congress — will simply not say who won the election,” the Post reported, claiming that to date, most Republicans have tried to “avoid the Trump question altogether.”

That includes Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who, according to the Post, “ducked questions about Trump’s claim of fraud” on Tuesday.

“The future will take care of itself,” the Kentucky senator reportedly said.

While the Post said Saturday that “[j]ust eight Republicans, 3 percent of all GOP lawmakers, voiced support for Trump’s current strategy,” it seems in the eyes of many, the 2020 race isn’t over yet.
