During his campaign for a second term, President Donald Trump tried to warn the American people that Democratic nominee Joe Biden would go after fracking and fossil fuels. Although Biden denied the accusations, it appears that Trump was right.
Presumptive President-elect Biden’s pick for secretary of the Department of Interior, Rep. Deb Haaland (D-NM), is in favor of stopping “all gas and oil leasing” on public lands, the Washington Examiner reported.
“If I had my way, it would be great to stop all gas and oil leasing on federal and public lands because those lands belong to all of us,” Haaland said, according to The Washington Post. Haaland was also one of the original sponsors of the Green New Deal, the radical climate change proposal that would completely gut the American economy.
Republican Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming told the Washington Examiner, “Rep. Haaland’s past statements are a serious problem. I won’t stand idly by while the Biden administration tries to kill my state’s economy.”
A flashback
This issue came to the fore during the final presidential debate between Trump and Biden.
In that debate, Trump tried to pin Biden down on the issue of fracking. On previous occasions, Biden had said that he would ban fracking, but on this particular night, Biden denied he had ever made those statements.
“I have never said I oppose fracking,” Biden said during one exchange. “You said it on tape,” Trump replied, to which Biden responded, “Show the tape. Put it on your website.”
Trump promised America that he would publish a video showing Biden saying he is in favor of putting an end to fracking. And, after the debate, he did just that.
Biden caught red-handed
Trump also posted the video montage on Twitter of Biden making statements such as, “I guarantee you, we’re going to end fossil fuel” and “No more, no new fracking.” In the caption, Trump wrote, “Here you go @JoeBiden!”

Biden has a radical climate change agenda that will hurt Americans all across the country and he is putting people like Haaland in key positions to carry it out.
