Report: Biden operatives entice Native American voters with raffles for cash, jewelry, prizes

Lawyers for Nevada’s Republican electors were expected to present video evidence in court last week of an alleged illegal voting scheme in Native American communities across the state that they say drove the Native American vote for Joe Biden, according to the Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard.

The videos appear to show Native Americans being offered entry into a raffle for cash, jewelry, and Visa gift cards if they voted, and the ones doing the offering were Biden-Harris operatives.

“If you come here to vote or if you voted already, RSIC is having a raffle,” Reno-Sparks Indian Colony spokeswoman Bethany Sam said in one of the videos. Sam was wearing a Biden-Harris mask in the video and is standing in front of the Biden-Harris bus. She said the group had “a lot of great things to push you guys to get out here to vote, challenge you to get you out here to vote.”

“A shocking number of states have discovered that groups claiming to support the Native American community’s voice at the polls have engaged in blatantly illegal bribery and vote incentivizing with cash cards, gas cards, electronics and other items,” the lawyers said, according to Bedard.

“This scandal appears to have been rampant in Nevada. Posts on the Nevada Native Vote Project Facebook page show that similar raffles were conducted in 15 Nevada native communities, with 116 voters receiving $6,650 in cash prizes,” they continued.

Cash for votes scandal

Calling it a “corrupt cash-for-votes scheme,” The Federalist reported last month that the Nevada Native Vote Project Facebook page openly promoted voter raffles and photos of purported voters who received gift cards after turning in their ballots.

It is illegal to give anyone money or gifts for their vote, and to do so while endorsing one candidate over the other while claiming to be a neutral organization ought to be scandalous.

A spokesperson for the Native American Rights Fund tried to downplay the allegations. “I think that this lawsuit is a little bit reckless,” staff attorney Jacqueline De León said. “It’s sort of just casting a wide net of disparagement on the Nevada Native Vote Project. And it turns out a lot of their claims are unsubstantiated.”

Native American votes made a difference

In states like Nevada, Arizona, and Wisconsin where Biden won by only 10,000 to 30,000 votes, Native American turnout was sky-high and was credited with flipping those states by some news sources.

The Associated Press said, “Native Americans were among the difference-makers who swung the race to Biden in Arizona” and quoted a Navaho Biden operative who bragged that he couldn’t have won “without the tribal vote.” Business Insider said the Navaho nation had 97% turnout in 2020, and that it went more than 95% for Biden.

It may be time for a do-over vote in some states where votes seem to have appeared out of nowhere or were bought and paid for in an illegal fashion.
