Judge gives the green light for investigation into Dominion voting machines

After weeks of failed legal challenges of the preliminary results of the 2020 election, President Trump’s legal team finally scored a win in Michigan when a judge ordered a forensic investigation of the voting machines in one of the state’s rural counties.

Trump legal lead Rudy Giuliani hailed the decision as a “big win for honest elections” and vowed to initiate the investigation immediately so the American people will have access to the results within 48 hours.

Finally making progress

Giuliani tweeted on Saturday:

BIG WIN FOR HONEST ELECTIONS. Antrim County Judge in Michigan orders forensic examination of 22 Dominion voting machines. This is where the untrustworthy Dominion machine flipped 6000 votes from Trump to Biden. Spiking of votes by Dominion happenned all over the state.

The case is not related to the presidential election directly but does concern the Dominion voting machines that have been blamed for voting irregularities in a number of elections across the nation.

Fox News reported:

The order from Judge Kevin Elsenheimer stems from a challenge made by voter William Bailey, who alleges that ballots were damaged during a recounting of ballots in a village marijuana proposal that narrowly passed.

Judge Elsenheimer ordered an investigation of 22 Dominion vote tabulation machines in rural Antrim County as a result of these claims.  Trump attorney Jenna Ellis said on Sunday morning that the Trump team will begin the investigation Sunday morning.

“Our team is going to be able to go in this morning at about 8:30 and will be there for about eight hours to conduct that forensic examination and we’ll have the results in about 48 hours, and that’ll tell us a lot about these machines,” Ellis told Fox & Friends.

Since many states have certified their elections for Biden, the Trump legal team has pivoted from focusing on overturning the election to proving that the integrity of our elections have been compromised, and an investigation of Dominion is at the top of the list in the quest for proof.

Dominion controversy

This limited audit of the Dominion machines in a single Michigan county is a start, but hardly addresses the widespread use of the machines and lack of investigation into claims in other areas about the machines flipping votes for Biden.

Just The News reported on Friday that a contractor for Dominion Voting Systems who worked at a polling location in Detroit on election day told the Michigan Michigan House Oversight Committee that she witnessed thousands of ballots being scanned multiple times by the machines.

Mellissa Carone testified that when the machines jam, election workers are supposed to reset the count on the machine to prevent re-scanning of the same ballots. She said she observed that “instead of discarding, they were just rescanning, rescanning, rescanning. Counting ballots nine to 10 times.”

The Trump campaign has highlighted the existence of dozens of sworn affidavits similar to Carone’s claims, alleging mishandling of ballots and misuse of Dominion voting machines, but most judges have dismissed the claims. The Trump legal team has vowed to continue pushing for further investigations like the one authorized in Antrim county.
