Giuliani says Trump’s best chance for victory is flipping Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan and Arizona

Over a month has passed since Democrats and mainstream media outlets declared Democratic nominee Joe Biden to be the winner of the 2020 presidential election.

However, as far as President Donald Trump and his allies are concerned, the contest is anything but over. During a recent interview, lead Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani laid out what he believes could be the president’s path to victory.

“I think our best chance is in Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan, and Arizona,” Giuliani told radio talk show host John Catsimatidis on The Cats Roundtable on Sunday, the Washington Examiner reported.

The former New York City mayor explained that a different approach would be taken from state to state: “I would say Wisconsin in the courts. Georgia, Michigan, and Arizona in the legislature.”

Multiple outcomes possible

Giuliani likened the situation at the polls on Election Day to a “bank heist,” saying, “This is probably the clearest evidence of voter fraud we’ve ever seen in America.”

As it stands, Fox News reports that Biden holds 306 Electoral College votes compared to 232 for Trump. A total of 270 votes are needed for either candidate to win.

Michigan and Georgia both hold 16 electoral votes each, whereas Arizona carries 11 and Wisconsin has 10, meaning that flipping all four would boost Trump’s electoral count to 285 votes and bring Biden’s tally down to 253.

State delegations

Another scenario could involve states simply refusing to send electors. If neither candidate reaches the 270 vote mark, then the matter would be decided in the House of Representatives.

In that instance, each state delegation would receive a vote. Republicans control 28 delegations to the Democrats’ 22, a situation that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) addressed in a letter before the election.

“The Constitution says that a candidate must receive a majority of the state delegations to win,” she said in September, Politico reported. “We must achieve that majority of delegations or keep the Republicans from doing so.”

However, that goal wasn’t achieved. Rather than picking up seats, Democrats sustained losses.

Iowa’s state delegation appears to have flipped to majority Republican following after a win in the state’s 2nd district. Democrats are contesting the results.
