Despite waiting over half a year, Americans have still yet to see any agreement in Washington on a coronavirus-related relief package. And White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany just made clear who she believes is to blame for the hold-up.
McEnany destroyed House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during a recent appearance on Fox & Friends, saying the California Democrat “has been fundamentally unserious” about negotiations with Republicans “in a way that’s irresponsible and quite frankly, disgusting,” according to a transcript from Breitbart.
The White House press secretary went on to accuse the House speaker of negotiating in bad faith.
“She wants this amount of funding to open schools and we give that, we give more than that, and she rejects it,” McEnany lamented Tuesday, as Breitbart reported.
“Derelict in her duty”
Speaking Tuesday, McEnany also called on West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, widely considered to be a moderate Democrat, to put pressure on his party’s leadership to strike a deal. “What’s the latest is Joe Manchin needs to go have a discussion with Nancy Pelosi,” she declared, according to Breitbart.
The press secretary also took issue with the fact that Pelosi apparently has time for a bill promoting the marijuana industry and another that would limit the breeding of big cats, but can’t make a deal with the GOP to help everyday Americans.
“She resumes the House, puts the House back in session, and one of the bills she puts forward about legalizing marijuana,” McEnany explained, according to Breitbart. “About going after Tiger King and regulating the use of tigers. Instead of focusing on the American people and the relief that’s needed.”
While Pelosi seems intent on leveraging the suffering of ordinary Americans, McEnany said, President Donald Trump has been desperate to get results.
“He’s been serious while Nancy Pelosi has been derelict in her duty, and she does not deserve to be speaker ever again,” the press secretary concluded, according to Breitbart.
“Literally gambling”
Of course, McEnany isn’t alone in pointing fingers at Pelosi. According to the Washington Examiner, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said Monday that the House speaker “spent the entire summer and the entire autumn literally gambling with the health and welfare of the American people.”
“She gambled that if American families didn’t get any more relief before the election, her party would expand its majority in the House and Democrats could continue demanding the right to remake all of society along far-left lines, in exchange for not passing any more COVID relief whatsoever,” he added of Pelosi.
It’s not a good look, Nancy.
