Clinton Foundation’s donations down 75% over last 4 years

Former President and first lady Bill and Hillary Clinton’s foundation, the Clinton Foundation, has seen a notable downturn in donations between 2016 and 2020.

According to The Daily Caller, the foundation’s contributions dropped 75 percent over the past four years, something that would typically prompt an investigation.

However, according to the Daily Caller, no such investigation has been written after the foundation went from receiving$62.9 million in 2016 but only $16.3 million in 2020, and very few people seem to have noticed.

“That is because most Beltway insiders know the Clinton Foundation’s primary purpose: to serve as a platform for Hillary Clinton’s political operation while lining the Clintons’ pockets by trading influence for money,” the Daily Caller reported.

“That is why donations spiked when Hillary was secretary of state and most of the world thought she was destined to become president — and why they cratered after she lost.”

CEO of the Clinton Foundation Kevin Thurm claimed in 2020 that the downturn was pandemic-related in a letter he wrote about 2020:

“[2020] was a difficult year for philanthropy. Across the sector, resources were stretched thinly and fundraising activities were impacted,” Thurm said.

However, those looking from the outside in are asking what has happened to the tens of millions in donations that the foundation lost between 2016 and 2019.

Additionally, there are reports that indicate that charitable giving was reportedly up by 5.1% in America last year. The Daily Caller reported that it is easy for an objective viewer to understand the “real reason” the Clinton experienced such a sharp decline in contributions since 2016.

“The Foundation is an influence-peddling scheme, and the Clintons’ influence has waned,” the publication wrote. “Even Obama understood the scheme.

“When President Obama nominated Hillary Clinton in 2009 to serve as secretary of state, she agreed to a strict memorandum of understanding to wall off the Foundation from conflicts of interest with the State Department. As Judicial Watch uncovered, the Clinton team immediately violated this agreement by using the Clinton State Department to help Clinton Foundation donors.”

According to the Daily Caller’s report, the Clintons agreed that the State Department would move to approve Bill Clinton’s speeches, something that Judicial Watch in partnership with the Daily Caller uncovered. They also indicated that the former president was quick to blur ethical lines and mix diplomacy with Clinton Foundation fundraising.
