President Joe Biden’s tyrannical and divisive vaccine mandate is facing resistance from the companies that make up America’s supply chains.
A coalition of trucking and retailing groups is taking Biden to court in the 5th Circuit to end the federal overreach, the New York Post reports.
Biden faces new suit
Under Biden’s vaccine regime, federal employees and contract workers must be vaccinated, and private employees at companies with more than 100 workers — some 84 million people overall — have to get vaccinated or submit to burdensome weekly testing at their own expense.
The benevolent Biden dictatorship says the mandate is meant to protect unvaccinated workers from the “grave danger” of coronavirus, as CNBC reports, but the National Retail Federation, the American Trucking Associations, and others say it is “an extreme assertion of administrative power” that will cause harm.
Biden’s policy places companies in an “untenable position” of “forcing workers to choose between working and their private medical decisions,” said Chris Spear, president of American Trucking Associations. “This standard arbitrarily picks winners and losers,” he said in a statement.
With the Christmas shopping season now in swing, the National Retail Federation, which represents Walmart and Target, says that Biden has not been accommodating about pushing his “arbitrary” deadline past January.
According to CNBC, President Matthew Shay said that it “appears that our only remaining course of action is to petition for judicial relief.”
White House doubles down
While truckers have warned Biden that his mandate will cripple already overloaded supply chains, Biden hasn’t listened, Spear said.
“They have, unfortunately, chosen to move forward despite those warnings,” he said, according to CNBC. “So we are now, regrettably, forced to seek to have this mandate overturned in court.”
Indeed, Biden doesn’t seem particularly concerned about logistical fallout as he insists that “too many” Americans are unvaccinated, despite more than 80% of U.S. adults taking the shot.
Less than a year after he vowed to never mandate vaccines, Biden has boasted that mass firings of unvaccinated workers are a sign that coercion is effective at making people take the vaccine against their will.
The president claims that failure to immediately enforce his capricious demands will result in “hundreds” of deaths a day as he tells businesses to ignore a 5th Circuit ruling freezing the mandate over its obvious “statutory and constitutional issues.”
