Rumors spread across DC of plan to replace VP Harris

Even as President Joe Biden’s own approval rating continues to trend downward, polling shows that Vice President Kamala Harris is consistently less popular among voters.

These results have fueled growing speculation that the president is having second thoughts about his pick for vice president and could be looking for ways to replace her.

“You can tell there’s a problem here”

Fox News Channel’s Dana Perino, for example, recently discussed reports that Congress is looking into a process that could result in a new vice president.

As part of a panel discussion on The Five, she brought up rumors that the president could ditch Harris before his first term has concluded.

Meanwhile, the White House has strained to downplay whispers of a rift between Biden and Harris, who is said to be concerned about her diminished role within the administration.

For her part, Perino noted that Congress is said to be getting in on the act with a process that has not been used since the Ford administration.

“This is one of those things where the White House is expecting you to not believe what you’re seeing,” she said. “You can tell there’s a problem here.”

Biden, Harris polls race to the bottom

While Perino believes that Congress might be preparing to appoint a new vice president if Harris seeks to ascend to the presidency, co-host Greg Gutfeld thinks the conspiracy might go even further.

He expressed a suspicion that Democrats are looking for a new standard-bearer to replace both the president and vice president — possibly California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Less than a year into the term, Harris has already earned the dubious distinction of having the lowest approval rating of any modern vice president.

Speculation regarding her political future has dovetailed with ongoing questions about who the Democratic Party’s next leader will be as eyes turn toward the 2024 presidential cycle and beyond. At age 78, many pundits believe Biden is unlikely to seek another term, and the vice president’s widespread unpopularity could render her virtually unelectable.

Fox News personality Jesse Watters pointed out that the party appears to have a shallow bench of young talent prepared to take the reins.
