Last week, Kyle Rittenhouse and his attorneys battled through a trial that has drawn worldwide attention, as well as unfair criticism and conclusions from many in the left-leaning media, and even the Biden administration. But it’s easy to forget the human suffering among the politics of it all. After all, Rittenhouse is still basically a child.
According to Fox News, Wendy Rittenhouse, the defendant’s mother, made an appearance on Fox News over the weekend, assuring viewers that she’s praying for a not guilty verdict while reminding everyone watching that her son’s fate is most certainly not in the hands of celebrities, the White House, or the liberal mainstream media.
Kyle Rittenhouse, the defendant, faces multiple charges, including first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide; reckless endangering; and illegal possession of a weapon by a person under 18.
His mother’s Fox News interview was her first media appearance since Kyle Rittenhouse’s trial began.
Telling his story
Wendy Rittenhouse revealed during the interview that her son was anxious to tell the courtroom, and the millions who watched the trial unfold, his side of the story.
“He wanted to take the stand, and he wanted to tell what happened to him that night, and I didn’t know he was going to take the stand until that day, and I was scared, but Kyle did a wonderful job, and I couldn’t be prouder of him,” his mother said.
When asked what she hopes the final outcome of the case will be, unsurprisingly she indicated that she hopes for a not guilty verdict, adding that his fate is only for a jury to decide at this point, and nobody else.
“It’s in the hands of the jury, and watching them, they’ve been taking notes, listening to the truth, and I hope they take that into what the outcome is going to be – not from the media, not from the president of the United States, not from celebrities, not from athletes: It’s about the truth.”
Circuit Judge Bruce Schroeder, who on several occasions absolutely excoriated the state prosecutor for breaking even the most basic rules of the courtroom, has draw widespread criticism among those who seemingly want a guilty verdict, though Wendy Rittenhouse said she believes he’s a “fair” judge.
Defamation suit possible?
Given the ridiculous phony outcry from many in the mainstream media who’ve gone out of their way to smear Kyle Rittenhouse since his arrest, given that it appears at this point that he has a solid self-defense case, Wendy Rittenhouse was asked about possibly filing defamation lawsuits down the road.
“Our lawyers are gonna handle that,” she replied, leaving open the door. Many believe Rittenhouse, if found not guilty, will soon be on the same roach to defamation riches as teenager Nicholas Sandmann, who successfully sued multiple media outlets for defamation and won, big time.
According to CBS News, closing arguments in the Rittenhouse trial are expected to take place Monday, where the jury will then have the final say.
