According to a report in Breitbart News, Hunter Biden advised his dad, President Joe Biden, to have “empathy” when dealing with China at the recent climate summit.
The publication reported that the news of this advice came after the United States and China struck an agreement on Wednesday to “cooperate” while at the COP26 summit.
Biden showed one of his Chinese business contacts that his son had advised his “cooperation” while at the climate summit, which was meant to be a display of his family’s compassion for the country.
Conservatives are concerned that this could be another sign of corruption in the first family toward China, which has been suspected of both Joe and Hunter Biden for some time.
Breitbart reported that it could even show that the president “has tied his hands” on key issues where the United States needs to hold a firm position with one of its largest international trade partners.
“The declaration would appear to be just a gesture, but the announcement is that China and the U.S. will ‘cooperate’ to reduce methane emissions, phase out coal consumption by 2030, and protect forests,'” Breitbart reported.
However, in the statement the nations agreed “to work individually, jointly, and with other countries during this decisive decade, in accordance with different national circumstances, to strengthen and accelerate climate action and cooperation.”
However, the details of the president’s son’s business dealings with China, specifically in the Chinese energy industry, have caused questions as to whether the deal was created with additional access to the CCP built-in.
Biden’s Wednesday remarks on his son regarding the advice Hunter gave his father about the conference did nothing to assuage those fears:
“I was being reminded by my son Hunter when I was trying to get the COP26 — what’s going on over in Europe on the environment — together, it makes a lot of difference. All empathy is looking at you and understanding what you’re worried about,” Biden said during remarks at the funeral of former Delaware Gov. Ruth Ann Minner.”’
Additionally, Breitbart reported in October that China’s coal output has reached “the highest level in recent years,” which set the groundwork to a later report that stated that “China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) reportedly ordered mine operators to ‘produce as much coal as possible.’”
According to Breitbart’s Emma-Jo Morris, “in this agreement, Washington is playing along with Beijing’s charade, putting the U.S. on par with a nation whose emission levels have an exactly inverse correlation with America’s.”
