For more than a year, many Democrats and the media smeared and defamed Kyle Rittenhouse by repeatedly asserting, without evidence, that he was a racist white supremacist, despite the fact that all three people he was charged with shooting at a Kenosha, Wisconsin riot were white.
Following his acquittal on all counts, Rittenhouse sat for an interview in which he revealed some rather shocking information, in that he expressed his full support for the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement and protests against police brutality and prosecutorial misconduct, CBS News reported.
Rittenhouse further insisted that he was “not a racist person,” and related his surprise that the issue of race had been injected into an otherwise completely non-racial situation.
“I support the BLM movement”
That revelation, which seemingly undermines the left’s narrative of Rittenhouse being a bigoted white supremacist, came during an exclusive interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
“This case has nothing to do with race. It never had anything to do with race. It had to do with the right to self-defense,” the Illinois teen said.
“I’m not a racist person,” he insisted. “I support the BLM movement. I support peacefully demonstrating. I believe there needs to be change.”
“I believe there’s a lot of prosecutorial misconduct, not just in my case but in other cases. It’s just amazing to see how much a prosecutor can take advantage of someone,” Rittenhouse added, echoing a common refrain from BLM groups with regard to a corrupt and biased justice system.
Expressed support rejected
Unfortunately for Rittenhouse, while he might support BLM and some of its causes, the feeling is most certainly not mutual, as the apparent overture was flatly rejected by the racial grievances group.
According to a separate report from Fox News, a BLM-linked Twitter account quoted a popular hip-hop song to say “I don’t f–k with you” in response to what Rittenhouse had said about his support for the protest group.
Making its point even more clear, additional tweets from a BLM account labeled Rittenhouse as a “little racist/terrorist,” and compared his so-called “white-supremacist vigilante violence” to the case of Hispanic George Zimmerman versus Black Trayvon Martin, the incident that sparked the formation of BLM in the first place.
Still being smeared
As if that wasn’t clear enough, BET reported that a co-founder of the BLM chapter in Los Angeles, California — Melina Abdullah — made it unmistakable when she asserted that Fox News was a “propaganda machine” that was attempting “to make Kyle Rittenhouse both the young hero of white supremacy, but also not be a white supremacist.”
“So, he’s declaring this … very tacit support for Black Lives Matter and for so-called peaceful protest. At the same time, we see all over his social media, him throwing up white supremacist signs,” she added in reference to an “OK” gesture he had made in pictures. “And people know what it is. It’s very clear what he is and what he’s doing.”
