Dr. Anthony Fauci and other leftists’ narrative on COVID-19 seems to be falling apart at the seams.
According to a new report from ABC News, Vermont currently has some of the highest COVID-19 case rates in the country, despite being one of the most vaccinated states.
The numbers
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Vermont is actually at the top of the list when it comes to vaccination rates: Roughly 72% of the state’s residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
However, Vermont just released data that shows it also has some of the worst numbers when it comes to new cases of COVID-19.
The data reportedly shows that Vermont’s coronavirus case numbers have increased by 42% over the last seven days, and by 55% over the last 14 days.
The state reported that it saw an additional 696 COVID-19 cases over the last week, bringing the week’s total case count up to around 2,000.
According to ABC News, this puts Vermont in 12th for the highest rate of new cases of COVID-19 among American states.
The blame game
But rather than admit their vaccination campaign seems to be failing, officials in Vermont aren’t backing down.
ABC reports:
Statewide, those driving the surge include people in their 20s, who are the least vaccinated among Vermont adults, as well as children ages 5 to 11, who are just now eligible to get vaccinated, Dr. Mark Levine, Vermont’s health commissioner, said Tuesday.
The outlet also spoke with Dr. Jan Carney, the associate dean for public health and health policy at the University of Vermont’s Larner College of Medicine.
“Across the United States and in Vermont, we’re seeing the impact of the highly contagious delta variant,” Carney told ABC. “It really is so contagious, it seeks out pretty much every unvaccinated person.”
While officials insist that it’s the unvaccinated causing case numbers to rise in Vermont, the opposite appears to be happening in Florida, where Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis has resisted calls for mask and vaccine mandates. The latest data showed the Sunshine State’s positivity rate for COVID-19 tests sitting around 2.5%. Vermont’s, meanwhile, is close to 4%, ABC notes.
