Mike Lindell’s MyPillow resumes advertising on Fox News following two-month pause

Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, arguably achieved the success he has attained thanks in large part to his prodigious advertising on Fox News that abruptly ended in July due to disagreement over his claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 election.

Yet, even as anger over that disagreement persists, Lindell has resumed advertising his array of MyPillow products on Fox News once again, Mediaite reported.

MyPillow ads reportedly began to run again on the network on Thursday, but comments from Lindell clearly indicated that the once-lucrative relationship has not been fully restored as of yet.

MyPillow ads resume

“I still think Fox has done more damage to our country than all other media outlets combined,” Lindell told The Washington Times Friday. “It’s the same relationship. I think they’re horrible.”

At issue in the breakup between Lindell and Fox was the network’s reported refusal to air ads promoting Lindell’s “cyber symposium” event in August covering 2020 election fraud claims or his quasi-social media platform “frankspeech.com.”

Lindell had actually attempted to return his ads to the network previously after pulling them in July, but Fox reportedly still refused to air them if any references were made to election fraud or his social media site, which Lindell later described to the Times as “disgusting.”

“The ad I ran last night, it directs them to mypillow.com selling patriotic products and Bible pillows, and then from there, I get them to frankspeech,” Lindell told the Times. “This is all about trying to get our country, trying to get awareness out.”

Costly pause in ads

CNBC had reported in late July about Lindell suddenly pulling all MyPillow ads from Fox News, the biggest platform from which he promoted his line of products. In fact, Lindell revealed that he had invested $50 million in ads on Fox in 2020 and had already invested another $19 million this year prior to the disruption.

At that time, Fox News had said in a statement that “It’s unfortunate Mr. Lindell has chosen to pause his commercial time on FOX News given the level of success he’s experienced in building his brand through advertising on the number one cable news network.”

As it turns out, the roughly two-month “pause” in advertising proved costly, as it is estimated that Lindell’s MyPillow suffered a loss in anticipated revenue of about $1 million per day, the Times reported.

“Turned their back”

Of course, as revealed by Lindell’s comment about how “horrible” Fox News is, it doesn’t appear as though the return of his ads to the network means that all is well once again, as he added, “I think all the hosts that are on Fox have turned their back on the country.”

Meanwhile, due to Lindell’s prior claims regarding alleged election fraud, both Fox and Lindell are facing separate $1.3 billion defamation lawsuits from Dominion Voting Systems, suits that Fox has moved to be dismissed and that Lindell has countered with a suit of his own, respectively.
