Vice President Kamala Harris shattered her credibility on the “climate crisis” Monday when she marched up the stairs of Air Force Two for a trip to Nevada just after exiting what the New York Post described as a “large black SUV.”
The Post noted that some found it hard to Harris seriously as she tried to convince listeners in Lake Mead to support “historic investments” in White House-backed proposals to fund things like improved infrastructure for electric cars. Hypocritical much?
“On the issue of climate, well, the Build Back Better agenda will help us tackle the climate crisis with investments in clean energy and electric vehicles, and so we can reduce emissions,” Harris said according to the Post.
“And why do we need to reduce emissions?” the vice president added. “Because that is part of what is contributing to these drought conditions.”
“Save the planet”
Harris was referencing an ongoing drought in western states including Nevada and California. A recent report from the Reno Gazette Journal said experts predict bodies of water like Lake Mead and Lake Tahoe will drop to record low water levels in the coming years “if the dry spell continues.”
One scientist “said he doesn’t believe the region is headed for another megadrought — at least not in the next few years — but that current dry conditions will persist for the next couple of years,” the Gazette Journal reported. “But until the region sees another substantial water year, water levels at Lake Tahoe will remain low.”
But while Harris suggests situations like this should be America’s top concern, she doesn’t seem to be practicing what she preaches — and observers aren’t letting her off the hook. “Zoom is available,” one journalist suggested, according to the New York Post.
Nothing conveys your deep concern about carbon emissions than boarding a private jet to fly cross country to “discuss” carbon emissions and how to save the planet from, well, from people like you! https://t.co/pQPdkzs7vt

Harris’ lack of self-awareness
According to the Post, Harris has also faced pushback from Republicans including Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt.
“This is about as self aware as hiring child actors to make you look relatable in a video produced by a Canadian company named Sinking Ship Entertainment,” he wrote in a tweet Monday.
Hypocritical as it may be, the vice president has shown no signs that she’ll soon back down from stumping for Biden’s progressive climate agenda.
“It is critical that we as a nation understand that we have within our hands, within our possession, the ability to actually change the course of where we’re headed,” Harris said in her Monday talk, according to the Los Angeles Times. “Let’s get these bills passed.”
