Caravan seeking to cross the U.S.-Mexico border just broke through a Mexican security barrier

Thousands of individuals looking to illegally cross into America via the southern border just physically broke through a blockade in Mexico, Fox News reports

This particular group of roughly 2,000 individuals was being kept in Tapachula, Mexico, by the country’s law enforcement. But, they broke through the security barrier on Friday.

No ordinary group of migrants

In video that is circulating the internet, the large group of migrants can be seen charging towards law enforcement, which is clad in protective gear, including helmets, vests, and riot shields.

The barrier, however, proved to be no match as the migrants broke through in seconds. Now, they will be looking to make it to the U.S.-Mexico border.

These particular migrants, like the millions of others that we have seen in the past year, come from such countries as Honduras, El Slavador, and Guatemala. But, this isn’t an ordinary group of migrants.

Reports indicate that this group was highly organized. Members had to register with a QR code in order to participate.

Background

This is a continuation of the southern border crisis that was made possible by Joe Biden’s presidency. Upon taking office, Biden signaled that America’s borders were open by undoing the immigration policies of former President Donald Trump, and the southern border surge has been on ever since.

Reports indicate that Border Patrol had over two million illegal alien encounters at the southern border during the 2021 fiscal year. This number includes about 1.65 million illegal alien apprehensions.

July and August both saw over 200,000 illegal alien encounters each. And, September came in at just under 200,000.

The surge is expected to continue in the final months of the 2021 calendar year. Some Central American officials have warned that a large surge is likely, a surge worse than any we have seen so far.

The Biden administration is said to be working with Mexico to come up with some sort of migration policy. No details of that deal have been leaked.

In the meantime, the Biden administration has done little to nothing to get the southern border crisis under control. Although it has been sending some illegal aliens back across the southern border, it has also been releasing many more into American communities.
