Biden admin moves to limit deportations as border crisis rages on

President Joe Biden clearly doesn’t see the southern border crisis as a problem, and the recent influx of Haitian migrants in Texas has done nothing to change that.

In a remarkably audacious move, the Biden administration will no longer consider illegal immigration a crime. Under the new policy, immigration officers are directed to deport illegal immigrants on a “case-by-case” basis, CNBC reports, and only if they pose a direct threat of violence or terrorism, or entered the country after Nov. 1, 2020.

Allowing illegal immigration

The new guidelines make clear that Biden and his slippery chief immigration officer, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, support open borders in everything but name. Now, they’re making it official.

The new policy legitimizes countless illegal immigrants as no different than law-abiding American citizens who are, Mayorkas said, “part of the fabric of our communities.”

Deporting them would be a waste of “resources” as Biden hopes to give them amnesty eventually, Mayorkas said.

“As we strive to provide them with a path to status, we will not work in conflict by spending resources seeking to remove those who do not pose a threat and, in fact, make our Nation stronger,” he said.

A DHS press release touted the end of the “categorical approach” of treating illegal immigrants like criminals. “The fact an individual is a removable noncitizen will not alone be the basis of an enforcement action against them,” it read.

Opening America’s borders

On Biden’s watch, more than 1 million migrants have entered the country illegally so far this year, according to reports. Instead of restoring common sense to immigration policy, Biden is doubling down on the open borders agenda that has been fueling an unremitting foreign invasion.

When 30,000 migrants from Haiti overran the border in late September, Biden baselessly attacked Border Patrol agents who were trying to deter the influx. Now, another wave of 60,000 Haitians is on its way to the border, the Daily Mail notes, no doubt emboldened by Biden’s obstinate refusal to enforce the law.

Biden’s dramatic new non-deportation policy means that America’s southern border has been reduced to a thin reed, with essentially one enforcement policy left, the pandemic-era Title 42. That policy is ping-ponging through the courts.

If struck down, as many as 400,000 migrants, twice the 21-year record set in July, could overwhelm the border in October. Despite all of this, Biden continues to gaslight the nation by insisting that America’s borders are secure.

This extreme policy means nothing less than a total abdication of national sovereignty. Americans should be furious.
