Report: 2021 will likely set a record for southern border apprehensions

Breitbart reports that the 2021 fiscal year, which will come to a close on September 30th, is expected to be the worse year for migrant apprehensions at the southern border since the inception of the U.S. Border Patrol in the 1920s.

Breitbart got the information for its report from an anonymous Customs and Border Protection (CBP) member. So, nothing is official just yet.

The numbers.

According to the insider, there have been more than 1,646,000 apprehensions by Border Patrol at the southern border in the 2021 fiscal year. And, by the time the official apprehension numbers are published, it is expected that this number will be at least 10,000 higher.

To clarify, these are only the apprehensions that were made in the nine Border Patrol Sectors that are located between California and Texas. So, not included would be those apprehensions made at the northern and coastal borders of the United States, which are expected to be over 2,000. Also not included are those arrests made at ports of entry.

To put Fiscal Year 2021 into perspective, previously the fiscal year with the highest number of arrests was 2000. In that year, Border Patrol agents made 1,643,679 arrests.

2021 is now expected to top this number by at least 10,000 apprehensions.

For those interested, Breitbart notes that in 1925, the first year of Border Patrol here in America, 22,199 migrants were arrested. We’ve certainly come a long way.

More lies from the Biden administration

Over the weekend, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas gave an interview on the Fox News Channel. There, Mayorka tried to claim to host Chris Wallace that the large number of southern border apprehensions is nothing new.

“We are certainly seeing a large number here this year, but in 2019, we saw a large number,” Mayorkas said. “In 2014, in 2010. This is nothing new.”

Considering the fact, though, this Fiscal Year 2021 is looking like it will set a new record for southern border apprehensions, Mayorkas is simply not being honest. But, what else would you expect from Mayorkas?

Mayorkas, for example, just had to backtrack on the issue of coronavirus-positive illegal immigrants. For a while now, Mayorkas has been downplaying the possibility that coronavirus-positive illegal immigrants released into the United States by the Biden administration could be spreading the coronavirus among Americans. Following a new report, however, Mayorkas had to admit that at least 20 percent of illegal immigrants have recently tested positive.

The simple fact is that, under Biden’s leadership, our southern border has been worse than it’s ever been, likely adding to the coronavirus pandemic here in America, and, despite how the Biden administration tries to spin the situation, the numbers prove it.
