Damning transcript leaks of Biden’s July phone call with Afghanistan’s president

As you’ll recall, former President Donald Trump was impeached, for the first time, over what he allegedly said in a phone call, concerning a subject not even remotely close to the gravity of President Joe Biden’s failures in Afghanistan.

According to a bombshell report from the New York Post, a leaked transcript of a phone call between Biden and former Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani, which was obtained by Reuters, clearly shows Biden pressuring Ghani to push the perception that the Taliban were not marking rapid and huge victories across the country, just weeks before the Taliban would seize control over Afghanistan.

“Whether it’s true or not”

It was reportedly during a 14-minute phone conversation between the two world leaders, which took place in mid-July, that Biden insisted his Afghani counterpart push the idea that the Taliban weren’t gaining ground at the actual speed that they were at the time, “whether it’s true or not,” Biden allegedly said.

“I need not tell you the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things are not going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban,” Biden said.

The president reportedly added: “And there is a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture.”

As the Post noted, the phone call took place during a time in which the Taliban had already taken control of roughly half of Afghanistan, and was merely weeks before their rapid takeover of the entire nation.

The transcript seems to directly contradict messaging from the White House, and Biden’s top military commanders, that they were shocked by how fast the Taliban were gaining ground.

Biden had a plan

Making the story even more interesting is that Biden apparently devised a plan to make it appear as if the Taliban weren’t winning at the rate that they actually were, telling Ghani exactly what to do.

Biden reportedly suggested that Ghani hold a press conference in which he would reveal a new strategy to defeated the Taliban, which Biden claimed at the time would have likely had the desired effect of changing the “perception” of what was actually happening on the ground.

“I’m not a military guy, so I’m not telling you what that plan should precisely look like, you’re going to get not only more help, but you’re going to get a perception that is going to change in terms of how , um … our allies and folks here in the States and other places think you’re doing,” the transcript of Biden’s call read.

So far, the White House has danced around the bombshell transcript, saying only that Biden and Ghani “discussed the situation in Afghanistan and reaffirmed their commitment to an enduring bilateral partnership.”

Only time will tell where this story leads, but if the mainstream media has an ounce of journalistic integrity left in them, getting to the bottom of it will likely be a game-changing revelation, and likely mean even greater political consequences than the Biden administration already faces.
