NBC reporter Shaquille Brewster was accosted by an angry man in Gulfport, Mississippi on Monday while he was reporting live on Hurricane Ida’s impact on the region.
As he surveyed the coastal area behind him and spoke of reports of damage, a man got out of a pickup truck and started yelling at Brewster. Much of what the man said was indistinguishable, but he seemed to be talking about the “accuracy” of news reports about the storm.

Brewster kept talking over the man’s yelling, but finally said he was going to send it back to the anchor Craig Melvin because “there’s a man here that needs some help.
Things get scary
Just before Brewster’s feed was cut, the man came up close to Brewster’s face and began yelling even louder in a threatening manner.
The footage elicited concern from Melvin, who said the station would check on Brewster and make sure he was okay.
“There’s a lot of crazy out there, a lot of crazy,” Melvin said.
Twitter followers were also concerned about Brewster, but he tweeted later that he and his team were okay.
Appreciate the concern guys. The team and I are all good!

Huricane Ida catastrophic
An estimated one million peope were without power Monday after Hurricane Ida slammed the Gulf Coast as a Category 4 hurricane, and officials said it could take weeks to restore power because of “catastrophic transmission damage.”
There were reports of chest-high flooding in some areas, and the Louisiana governor said that recovery would be a long process. Some parts of Louisiana saw wind gusts over 160 miles per hour, and the sustained winds were over 100 miles per hour from the storm.
One death has been attributed to the storm so far in Ascension Parish. Ida made landfall on the same day that Hurricane Katrina hit the region 16 years ago.
