Fired marine threatens to “bring the whole . . . system down,” following suicide bombings in Afghanistan

Following the suicide bombings in Afghanistan, one marine is now threatening to “bring the whole . . . system down,” Breitbart reports

That Marine is Lt. Col Stuart Scheller, who has put in 17 years of service. Scheller, last week, was fired from his position as battalion commander after asking for some accountability from senior leadership for the Afghanistan fiasco that led to the suicide bombings.

In a video that Scheller released on Thursday, following those bombings, he said: “I want to say this very strongly. I have been fighting for 17 years. I am willing to throw it all away to say to my senior leaders I demand accountability.”

On Sunday, Scheller went a step further and announced that he is resigning from the Marine Corps.

The latest

Scheller made his resignation announcement in a video that he released on Sunday.

“I want to make the announcement today, after 17 years,” he said. “I can stay in the Marine Corps for another three years, but I don’t think that’s the path I’m on. I’m resigning my commission as a United States Marine effective now.”

In doing so, Scheller pointed out that he was giving up all of his retirement benefits, which would have been rewarded after 20 years of service. “I don’t want a single dollar,” he said.

Scheller went on to explain the circumstances of his initial video, in which he called on his senior leaders to be held accountable. “All I asked for was the accountability of my senior leaders when there are clear, obvious mistakes that were made,” he said. “I haven’t received that.”

Scheller said that he still loves the Marine Corps, and, accordingly, he is sticking up for those that “don’t get the credit they deserve.”

He ended his video by saying, “you have no idea what I’m capable of doing.” “Follow me and we will bring the whole ******* system down,” he said, adding, “we’re just getting started.”

Inside info coming?

It is unclear what Scheller is planning on doing. It sounds as if he is going to do some whistleblowing – we’ll see. His father has said that he is going silent at the moment until his resignation is complete, and the Marine Corps has said that it is “taking appropriate action to ensure” his “safety and well-being.”

Scheller is currently receiving a lot of support from many who believe that his analysis of the situation in Afghanistan and in the U.S. military is spot on.
