MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell claimed Thursday that he had been attacked the night before at a hotel in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
According to the Associated Press, Lindell, known among conservative circles as a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, said early Thursday at an election fraud symposium in the South Dakota city that he was in physical pain following the Wednesday evening incident.
Lindell alleged the incident occurred at the hotel where he was staying. According to the AP, while police confirmed they received a report of an assault at a Sioux Falls hotel that occurred just before midnight Wednesday, they wouldn’t go into detail about the parties involved.
No individuals went to the hospital as a result of that incident, police said.
“All the evil that’s out there”
Lindell later clarified that his claims of an attack stemmed from what the AP described as an “aggressive poke.” Speaking in a talk show interview, Lindell said he had been approached for a photo when a man “jammed” his finger into his side.
“He put his arm around and stuck his finger, it was so much pressure, I just knew if I did anything something more was coming,” Lindell recalled, according to the AP. “He jammed it in where it was just piercing pain.”
The news was first reported by the Sioux Falls Argus Leader. Citing police, the outlet said no arrests have been made as a result of the alleged assault Wednesday night.
“I’m OK. It hurts a little bit,” Lindell had told attendees of the conference Thursday, the local outlet reported. “I just want everyone to know all the evil that’s out there.”
“We got a problem”
According to the Washington Examiner, Lindell also speculated Thursday as to what prompted the alleged attack.
“I’m attacked — physically attacked last night,” the businessman said. “Why? Because I’m up here saying ‘Hey, we got a problem?'”
