Former President Donald Trump on Friday gave his latest statement on the possibility of his running for reelection in 2024.
According to Breitbart, Trump said that he’ll be making an announcement on a possible 2024 U.S. presidential run “in the not too distant future.”
“You’re going to be thrilled”
Trump’s latest statement came during a television interview that he did on Friday on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America.” There, Trump was asked whether he intends to play “king” or “kingmaker” in 2024.
“I think you’re going to be thrilled,” Trump replied. “I think you’re going to be very happy.”
That would seem to suggest that Trump is likely going to announce that he will once again seek out the U.S. presidency.
Earlier this month, Trump made headlines by suggesting that there will be a “next time,” referring to his presidency. This is the closest that he has come thus far to revealing his 2024 intentions.
On Friday, Trump, however, reiterated what he has said numerous times in the past, which is that he wants a “little time to go by” before he makes his official 2024 announcement.
Trump added, though, that he’ll “be making an announcement in the not too distant future.”

Trump also said on Friday that he wants to see what happens in the upcoming 2022 midterm elections, perhaps before making his 2024 announcement. As Trump pointed out, he has been very active in working to help Republicans potentially take back the House of Representatives and the Senate in 2022.
“Right now, I’m helping a lot of people get into office, and we’re fighting the deep state, and we’re fighting radical left,” Trump said. “They’re after me. They’re after Rudy [Giuliani]. They’re after anybody. They’re vicious. They’re vicious, and they don’t do a good job, and they’re very bad for the country.”
Trump, during the interview, claimed to be 128 and 2 in endorsements, meaning that 128 of the people that he has endorsed so far have won their election, while only two of these people have lost.
Reports have indicated that Trump’s endorsement significantly increases a candidate’s chance of success. Some have even suggested that, with Trump’s endorsement, a candidate’s chances go up by more than 15 percent, which, if true, is unheard of in politics.
