Former President Donald Trump is back!
The Washington Examiner reports that next week Trump is going to restart his Make American Great Again (MAGA) rallies.
Details
The announcement that Trump is restarting his MAGA rallies came this week from his political action committee (PAC) called Save America.
This particular rally is scheduled to take place at the Lorain County Fairgrounds in Wellington, Ohio. The event will be held on Saturday, June 26th.
The rally will specifically be held in support of former Trump adviser Max Miller. Miller is currently looking to replace Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH), who was one of those ten House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump.
Trump recently gave his endorsement of Miller, writing:
Max Miller is a wonderful person who did a great job at the White House and will be a fantastic Congressman. He is a Marine Veteran, a son of Ohio, and a true PATRIOT. Current Rep. Anthony Gonzalez should not be representing the people of the 16th district because he does not represent their interest or their heart. Max Miller has my Complete and Total Endorsement!
It’s not a one-off
Significantly, this June 26th rally will be Trump’s first MAGA rally since the “Stop the Steal” rally that took place on January 6th. This, of course, is the same day that the Capitol riot took place. Some blame the latter on the former.
The good news, though, is that this will not be Trump’s one and only MAGA really. Far from it, in fact.
Trump’s announcement states that the Ohio rally is “President Trump’s first of many appearances in support of candidates and causes that further the MAGA agenda and accomplishments of President Trump’s administration.”
Subsequent rallies are expected to take place in Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida. They are, as usual, expected to draw large crowds.
Background
As the race between Miller and Gonzalez exemplifies, Trump currently is leading Republican efforts to both retake Congress in the 2022 elections and to replace anti-Trump Republicans with Republicans who share his agenda.
Trump, as of yet, has not indicated the direction of his own future. He recently suggested that he will run for the U.S. presidency again in 2024, but he has yet to say anything definite on the matter.
