Israeli citizens celebrating a religious holiday in Jerusalem this weekend were targeted by a hail of incoming rockets.
According to American Jewish Committee director Avi Mayer explained in a tweet on Monday, Israel’s advanced air defense system intercepted just one of the seven rockets fired during one barrage fired by militants in Palestine.
“More than a dozen rockets”
Another advocacy group released footage of children and mothers fleeing a playground as warning sirens blared in the background.

As the Daily Wire reported, a variety of factors have contributed to rising tensions in the region, with one of the most notable involving a recent decision by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to cancel elections.
Abbas has claimed he was motivated by a concern that Israel would prevent Palestinian residents in Jerusalem from casting ballots.
Former U.S. State Department official Elliot Abrams, however, asserted that the vote planned for April 30 was called off out of fear that the more radical Hamas party would win.
“An old ruse”
As he wrote in a piece for the Council on Foreign Relations: “Since the elections were announced, divisions within the Fatah party had emerged, there were dozens of tickets to vote for, and Hamas was likely to do well.”
In response, Abrams said that Abbas “pulled the plug, blaming Israel for his decision on the ground that it would not permit voting in Jerusalem,” insisting that it “is an old ruse, useful whenever Fatah leaders decide to call an election off.”
Israel has also seen an increase in rioting lately, with journalist Eylon Levy tweeting scenes of a burning tree outside of the Al Aqsa Mosque.
The blaze was allegedly sparked by Palestinian rioters using fireworks and necessitated the evacuation of Jewish worshipers from the Western Wall plaza.
Daily Wire founder Ben Shapiro presented footage during his podcast on Tuesday from Palestinian television encouraging viewers to attack Jews. One clip in particular reportedly showed a Hamas leader instructing Palestinians to acquire knives and decapitate Israeli citizens.
