Trump’s return to social media appears near

Former President Donald Trump is going to return to social media in the very near future, according to Jason Miller, one of his closest advisors.

Trump, of course, after many years of high social media usage, was kicked off of various platforms, including Twitter and Facebook, following the riot that occurred at the Capitol on January 6th. The outlets claimed that the move was necessary to prevent further violence.

“A tectonic plate shift”

Miller’s revelation came on Saturday during an interview with Mediate.

According to Miller, “We’re not that far off from seeing President Trump return to social media.” Miller, in fact, said that we should expect to see Trump back on social media by the end of spring.

The big question that everyone wants to know is what platform or platforms will Trump be on. One thing that seems clear is that it will not be on Twitter or Facebook, since Twitter has confirmed that Trump’s ban is permanent and Facebook appears poised to do the same this April.

But, according to Miller, Trump’s team has been in talks “with both existing social media platforms and also potentially with some brand new platforms.” And, Miller predicted that Trump “will be on some new platforms that maybe you haven’t seen before.”

“It will be a tectonic plate shift in the world of social media because anything that he touches is going to be big, so I think there’s going to be some excitement on that front,” Miller said.

A change in strategy?

According to former White House Press Secretary, the Fox News Channel’s newest contributor, Trump has been “doing just fine” without Twitter.

Trump gave his first public speech since leaving office recently at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Other than that he has been releasing occasional public statements.

According to Miller, this is just a “temporary stopgap.” Miller did say, though, that Trump has “had a lot more pickup from his once every couple of day-press releases that he’s put out than he did over a lot of his tweets by the end of the administration.”

So, maybe when Trump does return to social media we’ll see a different communication strategy than we saw from him when he was president. We’ll see.

But, the big news is that Trump’s social media silence will come to an end and soon, which is exactly what Trump’s supporters have been waiting for.
