The question of whether or not we’re alone in the universe is one for the ages, but former President Donald Trump’s director of national intelligence John Ratcliffe revealed a bombshell tidbit of information during a recent interview in which he suggested that the public will soon learn much more.
According to the Washington Examiner, in an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, Ratcliffe was asked about an upcoming, required disclosure by the U.S. government on what it knows about unidentified aerial phenomenon (UAP) objects that have been spotted by military pilots and others with no plausible explanation to justify their existence or behavior.
Ratcliffe suggested in the interview that while several reports of UAPs have been the subject of recent news reports, there are many more instances that haven’t yet been made public.
“A lot more sightings”
The former DNI didn’t hold much back when quizzed on the existence of the unidentified objects, indicating that there has been an increased number of reports of the unidentified flying objects in recent years, detected by pilots or highly-sensitive satellite equipment.
“There are a lot more sightings than have been made public,” Ratcliffe said. “Some of those have been declassified. And when we talk about sightings, we are talking about objects that have seen by Navy or Air Force pilots, or have been picked up by satellite imagery that frankly engage in actions that are difficult to explain.”
He went on to explain that some of those sightings included objects that moved in ways that can’t be explained with current levels of technology taken into account. He added that some of the objects seemed to travel beyond the speed of sound without breaking the sonic barrier.
“Usually we have multiple sensors that are picking up these things, and … some of these are unexplained phenomena, and there is actually quite a few more than have been made public,” Ratcliffe said.

Sometime between now and June 1, the U.S. government will disclose what’s currently known about these objects, thanks to language included in Trump’s $2.3 trillion COVID-19 relief bill signed into law in December.
Within that bill was the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 and within that section of the bill was a committee comment section that addresses “unidentified aerial phenomena.” The panel tasked with UAP reporting will reveal to the public if UAPs pose any type of threat to national security, focusing on if the objects are some type of advanced technology being tested by one of America’s adversaries.
Ratcliffe told Bartiromo that he had hopes of releasing a UAP report to the public before the end of the Trump administration, but said that it wasn’t possible to boil it all down to an unclassified format suitable for the American public, adding that in the upcoming report, a “classified annex” could be attached.
With that being said, the former intelligence director concluded that a possible explanation for the sightings could “be some type of phenomenon that is the result of something that we don’t yet understand and that could involve some type of activity that some might say constitutes a different form of life.”
Only time will tell what the world will soon learn about these mysterious objects, but if 2021 is the year of the alien, I don’t think many of us would be greatly surprised at this point.
